公演のお知らせです．
今週末の20日（土）・21日（日）と，東京のスパイラルホールでRefined Colorsというダンス公演を行います．

これは，ご存知のように出演者はMonochrome Circusという京都のダンスカンパニーのメンバーで，テクニカルは今夏にYCAMで作った新作trueのテクニカルチームの中核と同じ，
ディレクション・照明：藤本隆行（Dumb Type）　
音響・ビジュアルデザイン：南琢也（softpad）
音響・プログラミング：真鍋大度
という面子です．
つまり，このRefined Colorsは，trueの基盤といえるような作品です．
製作から3年以上のアップデートを繰り返し，世界15ヶ所以上での公演を続けてきたその結果を，できることなら見とどけて下さい．東京で公演するのは，これがたぶん最後の機会になると思います．
そして新作trueも，この12月に行う金沢と横浜公演に向けて，いよいよ動きだしました．

[光との旅]
Monochrome Circusが，旅と人との出会いを作品化していくシリーズを続ける中で，この作品に出会ったのが’04年。ツアー先各地の、光と音をサンプリングしながらシーンを更新していく中で、私達は様々な「光景」に出会った。東南アジアの極彩色の市場から、フランスの冷たい空気感や、東欧のやや陰鬱な光景、、、。
超ストイックな空間の中で、如何に空間に奥行きを与え、出会った「光景」のニュアンスを身体から滲んでいかせることができるか? 佐伯有香、森川弘和、２人のダンサーと共に腐心してきたのがこの作品だ。当たり前の事だが、光はダンサーに当たって反射し，観客に色として認識されるので，ダンサーは色が見えない、見えないものを触知しようとしてきたプロセスがこの作品でもある。

Refined Colors Performance
Refined Colors makes good use of the LED (light emitting diode) lights which generate about 16.7 million color variations with R(ed), G(reen), and B(lue) light emitting diodes. A feature of the LED, i.e., no requirement of large quantity of electricity and light mixing equipment, helps to make the Refined Color performance tour team full of mobility. The team needs only a notebook PC for all the operations necessary to create a variety of sound and lighting effects. It takes the advantages of the digital technology for incorporating the lights and sounds of various cities into its performing stage, and keeps updating its travel/work by connecting the different sights of cities one after another.

[Travel with light]
It was in 2004 when Monochrome Circus came across with this piece of dance in a series of its effort to materialize travels and encounters with people into its works. We saw a spectrum of sights in the process of sampling lights and sounds and updating the scenes of our works in many destinations of our dance tours: vividly-colored markets of South-East Asia; cool and distant air of France; somewhat dark and depressive sights of Eastern Europe How can we transude the nuances of the sights we encountered from out of our body? How can we render a depth to the ultra-stoic dancing space available? Monochrome Circus fretted over these challenges together with two dancers: Yuka Saeki and Hirokazu Morikawa, and arrived at this piece. Needless to say, the dancers cannot see the colors; the light strikes at the dancers, reflects back, and is recognized as the colors by the audience. The process to feel and recognize what cannot be seen is nothing but this piece of work.

The LED lighting has a potential to transform the run-down warehouses and the deteriorated building floors into a venue for performing arts by using the digital lighting without requiring additional electricity nor light mixer, etc.
This Refined Colors is a piece of dance which keeps being updated. It has been performed at so many different places such as Asia and Eastern Europe as a sample of experiment to see to what extent we can expand the possibilities of expression with help of only a minimum machine and equipment. The lighting equipment used during the performance are 20 lights on the floor and 8 LED light suspended from the ceiling only. Those lights as well as the sounds are all synchronously operated from one notebook PC.
